Best Gaming PC Sale – Dell XPS 420
XPS™ 420 Desktop $1,199 after $450 off Includes Bose Companion 3 Series II Multimedia Speaker System
Dell is currently running one of the best gaming pc sales on the Dell XPS 420. This sale that Dell is running on the XPS 420 will allow you to save $450 on this best gaming pc. If you are in need of a new gaming pc this sale could be perfect for you.
The standard Dell XPS comes with an Intel Core 2 Q6600 Quad-Core CPU. This Intel Quad-Core has 8MB of L2 cache, runs at 2.4 Ghz and has a 1066 front-side bus. This Quad-Core should be a very good choice in a gaming PC. However, the 2.4 Ghz processor is not the fastest for gaming. But, for any additional $100 you can add a Intel Core 2 Duo processor that runs at 3.16GHz. For a gaming PC, I think that this would be a good upgrade to choose for an extra $100.
The standard Dell XPS comes with 3GB of Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667 MHz. You can upgrade this RAM to faster RAM if you like. You can also add an addition 1 GB of RAM to bring you up to 4GB of Ram.
On of the best things about this Dell best gaming PC sale is that for the $1,199 price you also get a 19" monitor. This 19" monitor is a flat panel monitor. For $1,199, this is a great price for a Dell XPS 420 with a monitor.
Instead of highlighting all of the components, here is a list of the components that comprise the standard build,
- Intel® Core™2 Q6600 Quad-Core (8MB L2 cache,2.4GHz,1066FSB)
- Genuine Windows Vista™ Ultimate
- 3GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz - 4 DIMMs
- 500GB - 7200RPM, SATA 3.0Gb/s, 16MB Cache
- Single Drive: 16X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) w/double layer write capability
- 19 inch SE198WFP Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor
- ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO 128MB
- Integrated Sound Blaster®Audigy™ HD Software Edition
- Bose Companion 3 Series II Multimedia Speaker System
- Dell USB Enhanced Multimedia Keyboard
- Dell Optical USB Mouse
- Dell 19 in 1 Media Reader with Bluetooth

July 5th, 2008 at 3:18 amThis pc is great but it is not best suited for the latest games. I prefer nvidia cards a lot than ati cards.

July 7th, 2008 at 4:00 pmYeni, Are you sure? I think that is a perfect for gaming and for NFS. I have played that on a similar system. It is pretty good for online 3D games as well.

July 13th, 2008 at 6:50 amEveryone is right here but latest games always need latest technologies. You know that is the way of selling, marketing, and gaming. Although I prefer to play games on wii or PS3 but there are some games who should only be played on computers.

July 20th, 2008 at 3:26 pmI love gaming consoles because games can be played better on that. There might be some people who love to play games on PC but PS3 has changed the gaming life. I have played WOW and half life on my system but games on consoles are very different. Regarding this PC, it is not a bad deal and it has very good specification.

Cheap Game Gold Says:
July 20th, 2008 at 7:33 pmWow, that processor is beast. That PC will definitely be able to handle most of today’s games, if not all.
Would’ve been better if it had 2 260GB HDD set up with RAID 1 and a better graphics card, though.

Johnny Says:
July 24th, 2008 at 1:23 pmIt sounds like a decent enough spec…but most folks seem to have moved over to consoles – probably because they don’t need to rebuild/replace a high-cost PC every few years. Is PC gaming more of a niche thing now?

mmorpg Says:
July 27th, 2008 at 2:12 pmI’ve always found it better to build your own PC, especially for high end gaming computers. Dell does have some sick coupons occasionally though.

A.F. Says:
July 29th, 2008 at 10:14 amI guess, this computer is outdated already. See, the videocard was released more than 1 year ago! Its power will not be enough for current and next games (like Crysis). So buy PC with modern GeForce GTX 260/280 or ATI RADEON HD 4870. They will be actual at least 2 years.

How to Jump Higher Says:
July 31st, 2008 at 1:52 pmThat is a screamin deal for a gaming PC! I think I will stick to console though because a computer is where I work I don’t want it to become how I play too.
-
Zath Says:
August 28th, 2008 at 4:35 amDell are increasingly producing some quality pieces of kit, particularly at the high-end for pc gaming – rather than messing about with putting my own PC together, I’ll just buy a well-built system from Dell.

I just bought this same machine 3 weeks ago when they were running an even BETTER deal on it. I got mine for $1100 TOTAL with an 8800gts, 4gb RAM, and the quad core processor. This deal isn’t as good as the one a few weeks ago was =(
Great machine though, I love it.
