Top Priorities for Warhammer Online
The Greenskin Blog has an article today about Mythic's Top 10 Priorities for Warhammer Online in 2009. While I agree with most of what Snafgz says in this article, I definitely think my priorities differ. Maybe it is because I am really frustrated with Warhammer right now.
1. INCREASE oRVR XP - The most important thing that Warhammer Online needs to do is to increase xp and renown for participating in oRvR. Let's face it, PvE in this game is not fun. However, if you want to level up your character the fastest way is running scenarios, then PvE questing, and finally oRvR. If Mythic want to encourage oRvR, then it need to drastically increase the experience and renown gained for oRvR.
I find myself choosing not do oRvR because I want to level up my character. This seems like such a flawed system.
2. ADD STRATEGY TO ORVR - I really really want to like oRvR in this game, but right now it is not super fun. It is sort of fun, but not quite fun.
When I am fighting over a keep and both side are equally matched, this really fun. It should be but it is not.
The game goes like this. Both sides fight for a long time while the attackers slowly break down the door. Then we fight over another door. Then the two sides battle over the Keep Lord and both sides are a jumbled mess on the stairs of the keep. It is the same game every time.
There is no strategy involved. Both side zerg each other and it becomes a war a attrition over the keep door.
There is no tactics that really affect the outcome of the battle. No individual fights that affect the outcome of the battle. Mythic needs to add strategy to these sieges.
3. MERGE SERVERS - Mythic needs to continue to merge the servers. There aren't enough people on most servers.
When I do PvE, there is no one around. I might as well be in a single player game. If that is what Mythic intended, then they should have no PvE and people should just level over oRvR. However, ultimately, I think that PvE needs to be improved and there needs to be more reason to do it.
The low server populations also reduce the number of scenarios that pop. I can log into the game and wait 45 minutes for a scenario to pop. That is not fun!!
Those are my 3 top priorities. I don't care about an expansion. Free content would be nice, but ultimately Mythic needs to improve the mechanics it already has in game.
