Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB Hard Drive D
I was so surprised to see this Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB Hard Drive Deal. It is getting so cheap for computer storage.
It was such a good buy I could hardly believe it. I am a skeptic and have learned over my life you get what you pay for. A real deal is rare, but I found one here at TigerDirect. I never felt compelled to write a review about any product because I generally got what I paid for but at this price and the performance, I just had to. I looked at the features from Western Digital web page and knew that the best feature for me was the fact that the heads never touch the disk. There is no possibility of a scratch happening that would lose my data.
I live in a warm climate without air conditioning and needed a cool running hard drive which the SE16 is. There is no hesitation or delays when searching for a file. The large capacity 16 MB cache makes this product worth the price without the extra storage that I also received. This was an upgrade from a 100GB hard drive which I over crowded. Now I will not have to worry about space for at least a few years with 500GB to fill up. The plug and go set up was also appreciated. There was no search for hardware to utilize this new hard drive.
