Here is a pretty cool video describing character creation in Pirates of the Burning Sea. Additionally, the video has some footage of sword fighting and a description of how melee combat will work.
I am really hopeful about PotBS’ character creation system since it is modeled after City of Heroes’ system. CoH has one of the best systems of any mmorpg. According to Pirates of the Burning Sea, you should never look like any other pirate in the game. AARRGHH!!

I absolutely love the fact that character creation is going to be soooo unique. I love not looking anything like the guy next to me - infact I almost demand that. If it’s a fantasy world or in this case a world of pirates you would expect the immersion factor to be such that you could have your own identity.

I can’t wait for this game too. We will have to play on the same server when it comes out.
Pirates of the burning see is a novelty idea, but thats about it. I can’t see this game taking off the same way World of Warcraft did. Theres no way people will stick with this game. I think the best thing the developers can do is to make the game free, that way it’ll be a huge boost to the games community.
