When the first of the three Starcraft II games emerged last year, most fans of this classic Blizzard game were stunned to see how much the company had improved the game while staying true to its decade-plus roots. Starcraft II Wings of Liberty hit shelves with a lot of fanfare and interest, selling fast.

The other two in the series (each focused on a separate race: Starcraft II Wings of Liberty focused on the Terrans (humans) while the others focused on the Zerg and Protoss respectively) came out shortly after.

In this review, we're looking at the Starcraft II for Mac versions of the game specifically, here at MMO Explorer. This player group is often overlooked as most reviews seem to focus on the PC or attempt to be generic between the two.

Starcraft II Mac has gameplay much like its PC counterpart, though the controls are slightly different to fit the Mac. Graphics are often more detailed as well, thanks to the generally superior graphics engine and display that many Macs include.

The three races are very different from one another and require specific strategies for domination. Which is the hardest is a matter of opinion, but most newbies start with the Terrans first because they are a balance between the other two races. The Zerg are based on numbers (more is better) with generally weak individual units, but units that work well in tandem and en mass. The Protoss are the opposite, with relatively strong individual units that take a long time to create and who are very resilient.

The gameplay of Starcraft II for Mac is awesome and well worth the purchase if you're into strategy games and are a fan of the undying classic Starcraft and Warcraft games.

Too often bloggers forget that they can promote themselves in the offline world. When I first started MMO Explorer, I focused entirely on attracting online readers. This is a huge mistake. Think about how many people you come in contact with in a given month. There is no reason why they would be any less likely to enjoy your blog than people you meet online. In fact, I would argue that it is easier to market your blog offline.

For a site like MMO Explorer, whenever I meet people interested in gaming, I make sure to tell them about my blog. This is a great way to gain readers. there is still more of a personal connection when you know someone in the 3D world. Another great way to market your blog offline is to have business cards created. I have found a great deal on free custom business cards. You will be surprised at how this can really help you to gain readers.

If you are interested in this blog and mmorpgs, please subscribe to my RSS feed. If you don't know about RSS, here is an explaination. This explanation is adapted from post written on Seth Godin's blog.

What's RSS?

RSS is a signal that comes from a favorite blog or site, telling your computer that it has been updated. If you have an RSS reader (and they're free and easy, and I recommend Google Reader), whenever a blog is updated, it shows up in your reader and you can catch up on the news. If there's nothing new, it doesn't show up and you don't have to waste time surfing around.

GETTING IT: All you have to do to subscribe to this blog is ONE of the following:

a. click on this icon on the home page of MMO Explorer.

or
b. Copy the text in red below into your RSS reader.

http://feeds.feedburner.com/mmoexplorer/Zuqo

or
c. Easiest of all, just click the link below:

Link: MMO Explorer - powered by FeedBurner.

EVERYWHERE: RSS is just about everywhere you want it to be. So add other RSS feeds on stuff you care about. And if you want a downloadable reader, just go to google and search on "RSS reader" and the name of your computer OS. You'll find a bunch.

That's it. You're done.

Free, easy, permanent until you undo it and it'll save you time.
